I don’t think that made any sense… But onward and upward… The quiz was a great one last night!  Probably a little bit easier than most are used to but it’s nice to get to relax your mind every Wednesday now and then!

I had some people show up with some great pictures!  But onto the quiz.

What a close match it was after the first round… which made for quite an interesting night but also a sad one for some teams because they got so close but didn’t quite make it!  One team, the Blue Footed Boobies really ran away with the night though. Racking up 340 points before the final round, and then smartly wagering zero points because that final round question sure did stump the other teams.  Great job to the Blue Footed Boobies!

The quiz was a great one last night, what a showing we had!  We had over 40 people!  That’s a lot of a big cash prize one lucky team was able to go home with folks… I bet they ended up spending it on the delicious beer they serve at BTBC!?!!?

I digress, it was a really close match after the first two rounds… Like 30 points separating the 1st and last place teams, that’ll get some big WOW’s from all those quiz masters out there!  But then came the handouts, which played an important roll, some did extremely well, others did not.

One of the teams that did very well was the “My teammates are never one time”  who took home that big cash pot!  They were the only team to guess that Brad Pitt had been on the cover of People magazine 22 times!!! That’s a lot of cover time Brad, share some with the rest of us will ya?

My personal favorite was everytime Danny Devito was mentioned, I love him in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia!  Frank is a fantastic character…

Anywho back to the quiz.  It was a close match the entire evening, some teams only being separated by practically less than a point… well not really, but it was really friggin’ close.  Then came the final round… It had one of the best wagers I have seen in quite a long time!  The Army of Skanks wagered just enough points that if they got it wrong they would be over the 3rd place team!  It was a difficult question, every team got it wrong and the AoS were able to run away with the cash prize… Way to go!?!?!

For those of you who absolutely love both of these things… last nights quiz was great for you!?!  It had questions about Mrs. Potato Head and about certain kinds of meats… what more could a person want from a pub quiz!  How about a big cash prize to go along with it, AWESOME!

Anywho… let us find out who won that big cash prize at the Big Time Brewing Company!

The beer is delicious the people are nice and the quiz is even better… )) It was a close match, some teams were in the thick of it all the way up to the end.  But that was when “My Futon Pulls Out But I don’t” pulled away with it.  They were in second place going into the final round and placed a great wager of only 20 points… The question was difficult so nobody was able to get it right.  The other two teams were a little more cocky with their wagers… wagering over 200 points a piece… Classic Mistake… Futon goes home with the victory!?!?!

Anywho… what a great quiz, probably one of the most enjoyable, I think!

We had some great laughs, cried a little bit, and I even got a pencil thrown at me… no really but you could imagine what that would be like!  Especially if it got stuck in my eye… not very 90s!

The top 3 teams sure had a close race ahead of them!  There were only 4 points that separated 3rd place from 1st… Then every team got the final question right?!?!?! AHHHH! Well, it all came down to the wager and all three teams wagered just enough to inch out the others.  So Team Nunc Pro Tunc (I honestly have no clue where they got that from0 ended up taking home the prize!?!?!

Thanks to all the new teams that showed up and tried out the trivia. I hope to see you all next week!

The quiz on Wednesday went great at the Big Time Brewing Company.  This was probably one of the hardest quizzes given out in all my months reciting the questions to you quiz enthusiasts.

Many of you were able to get questions correct however the spelling sure did prove to be quite the problem for most of you (there were some exceptions of course). Lord knows I had a hard time spelling some of the answers and I had them spelled for me

However the game moved on swimmingly!  As close as it was, one team was able to spell the ever troublesome  supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!  I don’t even know if I spelled that right I did… The winning team only wagered 25 points and one team accidentally left out an ‘i’ in the word and would have won if they had done so.  Sorry guess but The Kids stole this one from you!  Cheers and I hope to see everyone next week!

The evening was full of bowling enthusiasts, from all over the country. In fact, the team who won, The Hippos, were from DC so that was pretty cool!  They came into the bar to get out of the cold, decided to play some trivia and walked away with a decent chunk of change to pay for their enormous bar tab (I saw the bill, they would have needed two big cash prizes to pay for it all)!

I believe my favorite question from last night had to deal with adolescent lycanthropy… TEAM WOLF IS SUCH A GREAT MOVIE! Michael J Fox at his finest people.  If you haven’t seen that movie before, go to a place where you can buy/rent movies and buy it or rent it and watch it!  It is brilliant…

Everyone was wanting a drink last night… Everyone! Big Time doesn’t serve hard alcohol so the bonus point opportunity was buying a pitcher of beer.  A few teams were able to do this so that was fantastic! Plus they also have really great beer at Big Time! I mean really great!

But I digress… onto the quiz… what a game we had last night.  The top three teams were separated by only 20 points so wagering was going to be crucial.  It turned out to be very crucial!  Two of the three teams wagered almost all of their points but one team was smart enough to just wager some and they ended up going home with some great cash!

It was an even match, for second place because the winning team Nemesis dominated from the very beginning!  They didn’t win the bingo round but they still had the most points after round one… quite incredible if you ask me!  Last night was also the first time we didn’t hear a bingo called until the 25 question was recited (We almost didn’t even have a bingo!)… How whacky is that?

Anywho… the final round was an exciting one!  The question was a challenging one and even though the teams put together great guesses, none were correct!  However, Nemesis had a pretty comfortable lead (by a little less than 100) so they were able to stroll into the moonlight with their cash winnings!  Congrats!

I digress… The quiz was awesome! Probably my favorite one yet, so to those of you who didn’t come, you sure did miss out!  We did name that tune which was great with some really fun songs on there.  And the four teams, yes FOUR TEAMS that competed were all very close and everyone of them left with something! Pretty darn cool.

The final round was a close one, but the Foam Party was able to pull away with the win.  Their veteran knowledge really played a key role as they wagered only 215 points while everyone else went for an “all in” moment…  Great job everyone!
