Danny is taking over quizzing at Sellwood, she’s a great gal, and lots of fun, please go check her out next week and give her a chance!  She graded all the papers last night ,and by next week she will be running things on her own, so show some support.

Belinda ran the game tonight, and with a few newbie mistakes, she’s well on her way to dominating the quiz for you all next week.  I’m on my way out and she’s on her way in. Make sure you give her a great big welcome when she’s there next week to help wrap up the last two weeks of the summer challenge game with her.  Don’t forget: $100 still up for grabs.  Who’s taking it? Whomever it is, I hope you spend it ALL IN ONE  PLACE.  At the bar.

Congrats to The Streeps for their win last night.  Well played, and way to walk out with a commanding spot on the leader board (3rd place) AND the cash last night at CC Slaughters.  They won over $50 for a two person team, and made a nice spot in that run for the $100 cash in 3 more weeks.

Our winning team last night, a new team with some folks visiting from out of state: Rings around Uranus.  I did not manage to snap a picture of Rings last night, as they exited before I could grab a shot, so in lieu of that, I give you an internet interpretation of “Rings around Uranus”  Enjoy. Last night had a decent turn-out at the Bitter End, as we celebrated some bar birthdays with some yummy fresh cake that your awesome Quizmaster Polly brought in.  It was set upon and eaten up in nearly record time too.  Well done players, well done.

Once again, tho they were not in the lead through most of the game, our Tuesday night dynamo’s Little Nemo took the game home, wagering smart and being the ONLY team to know the answer to the final question, thus, they won all the big fat first place pot.  Congrats to Nemo, and to the other team in the top spot last night: Tom Peterson, who threw their nearly 60 point lead right out the window with the final wager.  Still, you kept Nemo on their toes, and that’s a feat in itself.

Finally, in the end wash out it was the Unfortunate looking women that claimed victory.

And for the first time ever, the Pork Chop Express took the squirrel. All the way to Vegas. If he comes back with a little Elvis suit, or a drug problem, I pity the team that picks him up next.

Questions on the quiz tonight ranged from Bat-boy to presidents.  All those wonderful things you find in the tabloids.  Of course, we also had a question about chewing gum, and as always, it never fails to completely amaze me what you folks know about stuff.  All kinds of stuff.  Real stuff, fake stuff, random stuff, let’s face it, you know stuff.

This weeks best at Stuff: Little Nemo, once again in their moment of cuteness and bloggy glory.

I love Monday night. Best place in town to kick back, talk trash, and have a good ol’ pub quiz.  A good crazy night of tabloid trivia, and some great teams in to represent on the Summer Run board.  Keep watch for the latest standings.  Dai Bach and I Quiz on your grave are making their moves at the top, but with this week’s winners “I’m just a CLOWN” we have FOTA and the aforementioned team with a tie for second.  It’s not to late to make your spoiler visit, or to see what kind of mark you can leave on the Summer Fun run at CC Slaughters.  We’ve got just 5 weeks left.  Make your mark soon!

Take note quizzers of Bitter End and beyond, this new team known to the world as “Decency Kitty” marched in, and commanded that quiz.  They did not score enough to de-throne Little Nemo from first place, but the first time out of the gate, getting second, that was something that only one other team had done, by a show of hands when posed the question.

In our second week of the CC Slaughter’s summer race for CA$H we’ve got team Dai Bach coming out on top  this week, while I Quiz won last week, meaning each team now has 2 points.  You get one point just for showing up to play, so Angel’s Ladies and Fags of the Apocalypse are also on the board. We’re only in week 2 however, so if you want to bring a team, you have a chance to leap onto our glittery standings board.

Congrats to Dai Bach, the only team to know “that guy” that wrote the famous poem “Casey at the Bat.”  Here’s what I remember of that famous poem, recited by my sister many years ago in a summer talent show.  (in her baseball uniform) Who do you think helped her memorize those lines?  That’s right. ME.  *ahem* Okay, here’s what I got:

“…There was no joy in Mudville, the mighty Casey had struck out.”
