What better way to show of your luck then by coming out to Billy’s Bar in Beaverton. This place is really starting to rock every Tuesday at 7pm. We had 42 quizzers last night that were all down to show off their magical wit. I had our new QM, Jimmy take over the rains and he did an excellent job. The bingo round was perhaps a little on the difficult side since no team got a bingo. It’s rare, but it does happen occasionally. Round 2 was quizlinks, although it had nothing to do with the theme. We at PQU simply felt it necessary to put something in our quiz that paid homage to the big game coming up this Sunday. In the end, it was Hangover & a Pineapple that pulled out the victory. Wow! We had our best night ever at Billy’s bar in Beaverton last night. Everyone was juiced up for an 80′s themed quiz. Round 1 was won by Four ponies and a cowboy (Beer Whores). Round 2 was a name that tune round which brought back many memories of a time when bad haircuts, parachute pants, and rubik’s cubes were all the rage. Oh, and don’t forget Cabbage patch kids. Aw but I digress. This round was owned by Five Clown Punchers. The final round consisted of Four Ponies, Unforgettable Fire, & Five Clown Punchers. If you knew that Kristen Shepard shot JR then you would have been in the winners circle. Great job Unforgettable Fire!

It was one hell of a shifty night at SR!!! Quizzers were straight scandalous I tell ya! First, we had one yahoo team (not to mention any names, but he thinks he’s cool and he gets his ass handed to him in dodgeball…umh Adam) who thought they could get away with a seven person team. From that point on, it was on.

Bingo went by fairly smoothly, oh, until I was reminded that the douche team with 7 peeps had in fact seven people with, and you’re going to love this, a cell phone out and blissfully tapping away. This debauchery was quickly taken care of and the quizzing commenced as planned. It was the Cupcakes that came away with the bonus bingo points, though, House of No future shall be mentioned as they scored the most correct answers.

Round 2 was Jeopardy…BAby..whoooo….ooo..whooo

THOSE MEDDLING KIDS…that’s all I have to say about that…

In the end, it was quite interesting. We had Those Meddling Kids, Shadenfreude, and Cupcakes all in the final round. Note to self…I still have to stop by that tennis court but I’m pretty sure at somebody that enjoys watching the troubles of others should be there…you know who you are. But anyway, I digress. The question: What is the first and last name of the con artist who tries to scam a Midwestern town with promises of a bogus marching band in the film The Music Man? Now, to the kid’s defense, they came awfully close. Sickening close in my opinion. Though your answer was not Harold Hill. DAMN!!!

It was that kind of a night at Billy’s Bar in Beaverton last night. We learned all about pigeon dropping, phishing, and Ocean’s 11 as we delved into the world of scams and confidence tricks. We had a few new quizzers last night at the quiz which made the evening a little interesting. We had many old pro’s at it as well. Round one was won by Hangover & a Pineapple and just behind them was Po. Round 2 was Secret Message and was dominated by Po. Suck it Trebek, Beer Whores, & Clown Punchers were all giving it their best. All teams were allowed into the final round this time and no other than Hangover & a Pineapple new the answer and walked away with the loot. Till next time, Happy Quizzing.

We had a small and intimate crowd at 21st Street Bar & Grill tonight. I was glad to see that some of my teams are starting to travel to other venues to try their luck. We even had a first time quiz team. Hope to see you again team Sparticus. Bingo was won by Hangover & a Pineapple. We had Jeopardy for round 2 and that went fairly smoothly with H&P coming in first again. Nevertheless, I allowed all four teams to enter the final challenge round and it was Team To Be Determined that came up with the correct answer. Great Job! Wendy shall be back next week. Yeah I said it. It was a splendid night at Space Room last night. We had a full house and the quizzers were more than ready to get their Tolkien on. Team One Cupcake to rule them all won Bingo with Thistle Und Shamrock and Sparging Mash Potatoes right on their tale. Round 2 was The game of Arrogance and was handled masterfully by House of no Future. In the end though, it was Sparging Mash Potatoes that claimed victory. Congrats and JPP will be back next week.

Wow! Great night at Billy’s Bar in Beaverton last night. The quizzers were out in full swing and chomping at the bit to get their quiz on. The bingo round went quite smoothly with the Planeteers winning the bonus. But it was Hangover & a Pineappple who had the lead going into round 2. In this round H&P did the best, but Clown Punchers & Suck it Trebeck, gave them all they could handle. In the end, I took the top three teams into the final round. Congrats to the Planeteers for their successful victory to start off 2012.

That’s what all the quizzers had after they took part in this Diva filled quiz. The quiz started off nicely with a few new teams from Thirsty Lion. Bingo, albeit, a little difficult, was still fun and entertaining. Slowly Evolving and The Planeteers were tied with the highest score before bingo, but alas, it was Slowly Evolving that captured these bingo extra points. Round two’s name that tune turned out to be a game changer. After this round, it was the Planeteers that rocketed up to first place. The final challenge round was between Suck it Trebeck, Slowly Evolving, and The Planeteers. After some crafty wagering, it was Slowly Evolving that walked out with the first place loot, but more importantly, it was Suck it Trebeck’s first time to “Be in the money”. Great job everyone. Happy Holidays!

Wow! Thanks to all the quizzers that came out to Billy’s Bar in Beaverton last night. With cereal killers being the theme, I suppose teams felt they had a fighting chance. It sure was a huge improvement from last week. The quiz went smooth as first time team at Billy’s Bar, Slowly Evolving was quickly running away from all the other teams. But that’s why we play the final round. I only allowed three teams into the final challenge round. We had a very rare occasion for the final round as we had two teams give the exact same answer to a question. Therefore, I eliminated one team and asked a second question. I basically asked teams to name as many Chex Cereals that they new. Both teams new seven out of ten. This left me with no other choice but to hunt down another appropriate question. Which cereal was pulled of the shelf because it caused people to have pink poop. Answer: Frankenberries. Congrats to the Clown Punchers on their victory.
