Everything was grand last night at the Thirsty Lion… except for my pronunciations… come on… I thought I would get a little sympathy for trying to pronounce Zimbabwe’s opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai’sname… but no… people were screaming the right pronunciation… and i still couldn’t get it… sorry Morgan… sorry crowd… we had a full docket of 20 teams last night and 71 people… the second largest crowd ever at the Thirsty Lion.. Yea!!!

But soldiering on we made it through the night with a great round of ‘Video Detective’ which I thought everyone enjoyed… by the way if you haven’t checked out the video rounds at the Thirsty Lion you should definitely come out and see… it really adds a new dimension to the Quiz.

In the end though it came down to five teams as it always does at the Lion…. European Population Centers was the choice of the final category which threw ‘Scooby’s Red Rocket’ and ‘Gutted Salmon’ for a loop as they missed the final question and a shot at the cash. ‘Euro-Trash’ got the question right but with an interesting wagering strategy ended up in third. ‘Mostly Confused’ also got the question right and took second by risking it all.

But the night belonged to ‘Hillsburritos’ who were in the lead going into the final round and still in first place after the final round… gettin a shitload of cash and a well deserved ‘Well played’ from me!!

I’m going to work on my pronounciations over the weekend, starting with NBA player Martynas Andruiskevicius and ending with Worcestershire sauce….
