Funny, I’m nostalgic for Ireland, even though my ancestors were deported. I still drink Guinness, even though the one I drank in Ireland got dumped in my lap. I still admit to being Irish, even though the only visible trait from that side of the family is acne.

But still, I’m happy to listen to quizzers sing drinking songs in phony Irish accents (Go Jim!).

The promise of a thrilling new round two brought pubquizzers out, or it might have been the theme of St. Paddy’s day, but in any case, there was a really great crowd at Voleur last night. Some may call it “amateur night,” but tabs were high and scores were higher as pubquizzers turned in answer upon answer. And then five teams finished within a point of one another!

Congrats to Team Awesome for pulling first. And after a long, sweaty, drunken fight, Stay Out of My Parade and Rural Jurors tied for second and split the money. I ran out of questions, seriously. Don’t expect that every week.
