Whew! Packed Mezzanine at the Bridgeport on Tuesday night. It was a good game all in all. We had a few select assholes that were yelling out answers repeatedly, even after my “nice” warning to knock it off. They were not playing, so they could not be penalized, alas. I would LOVE to have taken away major points for lameness. Then, I thought they had stopped, only to find out (at the end by another team) that they had been saying answers loud enough for the teams around them to hear, but not loud enough for ME to hear. I was flabbergasted. BLARNEY! I mean really, how lame can you be? You ask someone not to break rules, they break them. THEN when you embarrass them ON THE MIC, out loud, they quiet down and just keep it up, but no so you can hear them. Hmpf. I can only hope that the team had been drinking since, I dunno, BIRTH and that forced them into lame-ness,but I digress.
Enough about the Arses, the fun folks that DID win on Tuesday night were some great teams! We managed to get through all the St. Patty’s day ruckus, and awarded some points for singing, limericks and toasts (one really lame one) and had a good game. The bingo was a little tough, but well played, and by the end of the game our top five were: Liam Neeson will fight that mountain, The Luck of the Irish Carbombs, Lance Armstrong’s Blarney Stone, The Irish Toasters, and Little Nemo. A mighty fine fair fight to the end I’d say, as our top placed team, Liam Neeson will fight that mountain, retained the lead after the final, leaving 2nd place to little Nemo, and in an upset going from 5th to 3rd, Lance Armstrong’s Blarney Stone. You might know them as former team “Gob and the nevernudes” I blogged last week about how they never give up, and keep trying, even when they don’t win, and here they are with a great 3rd place!
I know I’ll be seeing Little Nemo on Monday night, and I *think* that Lance Armstrong’s Blarney stone will be showing, in fact, I believe THAT team owes me a drink. Regardless, arrive early, plan to stay a little later, and come hungry for that pot, cause it’s going to be BRUTAL and we are going to kick your asses so hard you won’t even realize what happened.
