The glitz and glam was in full effect tonight along the red carpet at Biddy’s, where old favorites and hot new acts alike turned out for one of the most exciting events of the year… Alright, so that was my best “Entertainment Tonight” take on last night’s Oscar-themed quiz, which in reality was just as laid back and down-home fun as Biddy’s is every week.
“My Bologna Has A First Name” (for the slow pokes at home, that’s O-S-C-A-R), staked an early lead by making a killing in the Bingo round, and they rode that wave right to the end of the game, taking home “Best Picture” and first-place to boot. They edged out “1981 Best Picture Nominee: Beige Food” by 11 points in the final round, and Yellow #5 landed in the three-spot, and still managed to take home a princely sum.
Padawan Quizmaster JPP manned the mic, deftly managed and trained by Biddy’s usual “Best Actor” nominee Dave. And while neither of which can compare to the real Oscar MC, Hugh Jackman, the Pub Quiz audience didn’t seem to mind.
A lot of people brought in their “Oscars” for bonus points this week… there were so many that it’s hard to name a favorite statue, but the best bonus point acceptance speech was the gentleman from Beige Food who said, “You hate me… You really, really hate me…” Nah, we love you, man. But better luck next week.
