You had me at Gypsy Punk…Belmont Inn

We started off the night with some of my favorite music the Gogol Bordello, which, punk ass as it is, I can’t share with just any venue, but at the Belmont, at least 4 people came up and KNEW The music and liked it. “You had me at Hello” or in this case, you had me at “HEY IS THIS the GOGOL BORDELLO?” Yes my friends, it indeed is. AND Queens of the Stoneage. Not to mention some Kyuss thrown in. I haven’t played those tunes for a venue since back in the day of the Red Room. Sorry about that Sara Barielles creeping in, she just slipped under the radar from another playlist, really. I don’t know WHO put that on there…

So it goes, my first night at the notorious Belmont Inn was without ANY issues. I mean we had 87 people in there, yet NADA a problem in sight. Folks come in fast and furious there, and get the game rolling along. The way to a Quizmasters heart is to 1. Follow the frickin rules 2. Tip wildly 3. Like and/or sing along to the music. We had a little ditty about two all beef patties, and we had a loud ass toast to Justin for his birthday as well. It was great to see the teams that I rarely bump into, since I”m way over in Old town, or down NE most nights. The Belmont Inn was so accomodating and swell, I will just have to come back in a couple of weeks for Justin and try it again. I love watching all the people crowded around the pool tables, and I LOVE to split that pot. Especially when it’s a nice big load of pot. Er, I mean a nice big Pot. (of cash of course)

And I am SOOoooo never forgetting that some of you DO INDEED shop at Forever 21 (and know American Idol contestants). John 3:16 HA! Remember, the next time you are shopping there for your favorite black t-shirt. “He gave his only begotten son so that you might shop” AND look like a slut. Isn’t the bible awesome?
