It was a Birthday night at CC’s and I bought dear Donovan a nice drink from the bar for his bday. Donovan has been a great and dedicated member of The Streeps since the dawn of pub quiz at CC Slaughters. He has not given up, he’s come week after week, always prepared and a big help to his team. Donovan will NEVER give out a cake like this one:
Last night, being his birthday, did bring in two dozen cupcakes from Voodoo cupcakes to give out! We had kick ass dougnuts, drinks, and a dance off in the end. A girl really couldn’t ask for a better quiz. Pub Quiz perfection. Wish you were there…you’ll come next week though, right?
Since the BAR TEAM took the $67 for first place that meant that we had $29 left over for second. Second place and third place wagered and lost the question, thus ensuring a TIE for the second place pot. Naturally, as a Quiz master, I offered up another question and wager to break that tie, and when that second question begat a tie then well…we just had to have a dance off. We’ve done it once before, but never oh never like this. It was Daniel from the Dirty Tricks and Donnovan, the birthday Streep dancing to “Fergilicious” at the end of the night…and it was AWESOME! Man, the whole bar was on it’s feet, cheering and helping me call the dance off. It was tough decision, but in the end, I had to hand the win over to Daniel, with his emotionally stirring whimsical dance/ lip sync. My favorite dance off moment was when Daniel points to himself in rhythm for the “boys go Rock Rock” part of that song. Totally awesome. The booty shaking and shimmering were pretty damn good too. Fergie loves you boys, she’d be proud to see you dance like that to her song.
On a side note, it was great to see the lone member of Army of Skanks (and winner of our bumper sticker contest)come to play last night again, we miss thee, Army of Skanks once the Army of Streeps when united together. Ya’ll think your QM doesn’t remember these things? Trust me I don’t forget. Except when I forget to turn off my pocket pal…and you hear it in the mic. *ahem*
