I love it when a brand new team comes strolling into a venue full of seasoned trivia people and places a serious smack down upon all of you PQ veterans. Call me sentimental, but it just makes me a little misty-eyed when that happens.  Tonight at Bitter End Pub, that team was R.C.T.I.D. Some of you may recognize this as a “Timbers Army” call.  You would be correct in that recognition.  They came in fresh, having never seen my quiz, only my gazillion damn tweets about it, and decided to give it a go.

And this, quizees is how you kick ass at a trivia game.  They were up in the top three in Bingo, and held that impressive placement until the final round, when they popped up into first place with an 8 point lead over second, and a 22 point lead over our two teams that tied for third.  That impressive lead was not enough to satisfy the R.C.T.I.D team however, they took the newbie smack down to an even greater place when they were the only team in the bar to correctly identify ALL of the people from News Radio that are currently working in television.  They got ALL of the them right.  Maybe they know a little something about radio, since they are several podcasters from pdx.fm, btw. Or, maybe it’s just that they really liked Joe Rogan.  I’m not one to judge.  In any case, they kicked your collective quizzer asses.  If this week is any indication, I’d say you all need to be boning up those trivia skills for next week’s game that will have another iteration of the pdx.fm crew coming down to play with us Tuesday night at Bitter End.  We have a big blitzy event going with them next week, where you will be on the receiving end of some serious awesome.  Make sure to play next week-it’s going to be some fun you DON’T want to miss.  I’m also doing a drawing while the pdx.fm folks are with us for free beers. A random draw-so it could be YOU drinking for free next week at Bitter End. We’ll also have some great prizes to give away, in addition to that fat wad of cash that comes with the big crowds.  People are coming back to Bitter End, and the game is definitely ON.  Now’s the time to bring it out and show it. Like team R.C.T.I.D.
