City Slickers, Misery and Robin Hood, all walked out on. City Slickers made it a little under an hour, while Misery only got the first 30 minutes, and Robin Hood? Holy shit-I cut out of there in the first 15 minutes and that song. OMG that song. Sometimes a movie ticket just isn’t worth the price of your soul bleeding while you watch some hack turned actor having a mid-life crisis, get his ankles broken by some dirty bird, or fading in and out of an English accent. I did not put together the fact that the three movies I walked out on were all released in the same year. The quizzers last night pointed that connection out to me. Once it was nicely put in front of me,it just so happened to coincide with a horrible ex-boyfriend. I only kept him around one summer (and part of fall), but we must have watched a lot of movies on our dates. We must also have walked out on a lot of movies, since all these movies came out in 1991. *sigh* (Go ahead, I know, Misery was technically 90) I swear, I don’t subscribe to peer pressure. Ever.
Last night was had a decent turnout at CC Slaughters again, and the bar team played fair again this week, keeping ahead of one of our teams all through the game. Wtg Bar Team! Leaders at the top of the game ALL NIGHT LONG however: Team Dai Bach! Dai Bach is back in action on Monday night and giving our other teams like Fags of the Apocalypse, I Quiz on your grave, and The Streeps a run for their money. Keep it up Dai Bach, I can’t wait to play your “fight song” next week when we lay out the BIG PRIDE THEME on Monday night. Spread the word, and get your teams together-we’ve got some big things brewing for next week. Including some special guest hosts from my friends over at PDX.FM who will be stopping by the venues with some goodies to give out and hosting a round at some undisclosed locations. Keep an eye and ear open for the fun coming next week-you don’t want to miss out. PRIDE Quiz on Monday-come fly your flag with PRIDE on Monday night!
The only movie I ever walked out on was Weekend at Bernies 2. It was 1993 and I was 13. I walked out on on Andrew McCarthy AND Jonathan Silverman. Two of my crushes at the time. That is how bad that movie was.
Ouch! I think Weekend at Bernies 2 might have been BETTER than Robin Hood, honestly.
