Let’s see…  Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, check… Knowing, check… I’m gonna go ahead and put War of the Worlds (2005- with Tom Cruise).  It started out awesome, with tons of suspense and interesting characters… and then it turned into a heavy handed special effects reel and all the interesting characters DIE.  Dakota Fanning pretty much carries the movie in my opinion.  Which is kinda awesome.

You know, two of those movies were Spielberg-directed.  Now that I think about it, a LOT of Spielberg movies start out good and then go way, way over the top.  A.I. started interesting, got stupid.  Hook started interesting, went stupid with the colors and the kids.  Even Amazing Stories, that tv series, was mostly crap.  There are definitely a few gems in his directorial portfolio (E.T., Jaws, Close Encounters, Empire of the Sun, The Terminal, Catch Me if you Can) but I think he’s slowly going the way of George Lucas.  I think we all know what that means.  If you don’t, just watch Star Wars (awesome) and then watch one of the “new” Star Wars that he directed.

You might be wondering why I’m rambling on.  It’s because I’m dreading showing you the following picture:

That’s my apology for accidentally calling last week’s winners, Dazed & Confused the wrong team name (Miracle Max).  I have only myself to blame!  It was almost worth the apology though – I played the sad snoopy music and walked over to their table a la Michael Sera in Arrested Development.  Anyway, hopefully it was apology accepted.
