Going Green on 4/20

“Going green”, this week’s Pub Quiz theme, apparently means different things to different people.

Being an attorney who practices in environmental law, this Quiz Master was hoping for a bunch of  environmentally-themed questions. In honor of Earth Day, that would have been fitting.

PIELC Conference in Eugene

The Green and White Army, it seems, was hoping for a few Timbers-related questions.  Since they’re fresh off a shutout win to start the season (only 1 year ’til MLS baby!) that would have made sense, too.

The Aces struggled a bit, but nailed the spelling of “C-A-N-N-A-B-I-S S-A-T-I-V-A”,  and it’s 4/20, so you know where their heads were…

The Visitors, though, sauntered in leisurely — fashionably late, as it were — but made up for it in the end.  New to the Biddy’s Pub Quiz game, they never led until Borg9 couldn’t cash in on a big lead.

To The Visitors, “green” didn’t end up referring to their relative inexperience, but the big pot of cash they walked out with…

Yes, this is a horribly dark picture. And yes, if I fidget with some program I don’t have, I could probably get it to lighten up a bit and you could actually see The Visitors there in all their Pub Quiz championship glory.

But after a few minutes trying, I can’t get it to work.

So, they’ll just have to come back and win again and get enshrined in eternal web blog glory…

See you next week!

We, too, were disappointed there weren’t more (any?) environmentally-themed questions; especially since one of our team members is about to graduate from the Renewable Energy Engineering program at OIT.

Well, there was the Rachel Carson question…

    And the John Muir question…

So I guess that counts. Ish.

Green/White Army member here. Thanks for the Timbers plug! Yay for the visitors. Glad to have one soccer question on a hand-out.
