Fact: last night’s quiz at Schmizza Pub & Grub was a success.

Fact: everyone had fun, even those who didn’t fare so well.

Question: how many beets does it take to win a Pub Quiz?

(Random guy who is listening to me as I type and say things out loud) – “Uh, what beets?”

Me – “False, there are no beets required to win a Pub Quiz, although they do help in nourishing the brain.”

This is why I generally don’t leave the house. People tend to stare and whisper amongst each other (plotting) and then eventually call the guys in the white coats. Their names are Burt and Conrad.

Turns out, having beets does help your chances to win as ‘The Beet Farmers’ took the top prize last night. They were nipping at the heels of leader ‘We <3 Brains’ the entire night, but decided to go big or go home in the final round. Incidentally they went big and then they went home, but that’s just semantics.

The other teams in the final round took a decidedly more cautious approach and did some math for their wagers. In the end it was ‘Extrenious Eye Patches’ who took second place for the Nth time in a row (it was actually their 3rd time).

Meanwhile team ‘SPQR’, who were last week’s champions, put up a valiant fight but their intellectual prowess could not account for the loss in their numbers (there were only two of them).
