It all started back in 2006, with the first night at the Bridgeport bringing in about 40 people.  In 2006, an opening night of 40 was nothing to sneeze at, and still isn’t really, so, with that first successful launch, Bridgeport set out as an amazing Pub Quiz venue.  We hit over 100 people there in the first year I was hosting (in the days before fact checking, I might add).  We hit 115 one night, with 23 teams when I had to send folks home, I can remember telling two teams of 6 that we didn’t have room for them.  Ya’ll might remember some of those nights?  Maybe some of you were there?   Scooby’s Red Rocket played their first quiz at the Bridgeport, and continues to win there now.  Last night at our final BP, Scooby’s took home the cash.  While I’ll miss the leather couches, and the swanky lights, the time has come to say good night, indeed, last night as we marked off the LAST quiz at the Bridgeport Brewery in the Pearl, it was a fitting poetic justice that Scooby’s would take home the win.  And get a great shot on the leather couches.

Now, as we have taken a look back, let’s move forward, and talk about where we’re GOING! We’re moving down the road to a new place called The Bitter End pub.  It’s up the road on Burnside, and the owners there are AWESOME!  They promise lots of open tables, better prices on food, (which includes a new expanded menu)  and they won’t be telling us to TURN DOWN THE MUSIC at any time during the quiz! This my little quizzions will be a big improvement!  We are welcomed with open arms to our new home on Tuesday nights.  No competing with the Happy Hour lingerers, or the folks showing up to watch Blazer games on the big screen above my head.  Nope, it’s all about the trivia on Tuesday night’s now, so please, join me there next week at 7 pm!  A final note: as I was talking with the crowd, I realized that some of you really rely on that 7:30 time spot to make the quizzing happen.  I’ll do my best, and I won’t start the game till everyone is in the door and seated!  (to be used at my discretion and sparingly)  I’m excited about the new digs, and I’ll be stopping by this weekend to check it out!  Prepare for lots of fun on opening night!
