Strange night…

Quiz Master Polly is out of the country, relaxing and basking in the rays of sunshine down in Mexico. In her stead, Quiz Master Kevin took up the reigns, and led a boisterous crew through 5 rounds of questions Monday night at CC Slaughter’s.

But that wasn’t the strange part.

Back to the Streeps and <— I’m with Stupid stayed close all night, as did the Chronic Argonauts, but none had the gall go to for the glory in the Final Challenge Round, each betting 0.

Newcomers Gaga Nation and perennial favorites Angels Eyes had a shot at the end, when they went for broke in their wager after trailing the CC’s Bar Team, who bet one single, measly point. In the end, though, the Bar Team was the only that knew the answer, and a single point was more than they needed.

That was the strange part. It’s not that a single point wager never wins, because that happens all the time. And it’s not that the team ahead going into the final round only bet a point, because that happens often enough, too. And it’s also not unheard of that a single point wager from the quiz leaders ends up getting them a victory, because, well, stranger things have happened.

BUT – when all of those factors come together, AND it’s the CC’s Bar Team that takes home a victory? Yeah–strange, indeed.

But with an unprecedented extremely rare victory, the whole Pub Quiz pot gets carried over to the next regularly scheduled Pub Quiz, Monday April 5th, at 7:00! Make sure an come on out, and try to take back the cash in what will surely be an intense game, with an incredible pot!
