Last night was a trip! There were about a zillion of you guys, thanks in part to the Lawyers convention that descended on our quizzing home, the Thirsty Lion. In fact, there were 68 people playing last night in 16 teams! I’m pretty sure that’s the biggest quiz I’ve run there yet, so thanks to all our new people for coming down. With that many people playing you know the competition will be fierce and unpredictable, and of course you guys didn’t disappoint. After Bingo, Yahtzee looked pretty good with a substantial lead, but Sparkle Nation won the bonus and catapulted themselves into second place. Then came “Who Am I?” which always throws everyone for a loop, and by the time the dust settled we had several teams, including newcomers Lawyers Guns and Money, and Dingo Snack vying for the top spot. The handouts were graded and entered, Sparkle Nation won the TL Trivia Challenge (and got the bottle of bubbly) and we went into the final round. Almost everyone got the correct answer, although I could see in your faces how embarrassed you were that y’all are so familiar with Twilight (Blame it on the kids, nieces, nephews etc. I’ll “believe” you.) Anyway, wagering strategy won the day, and newcomers Dingo Snack walked away in first place! Sparkle Nation and Yahtzee came in second and third respectively. It was great to see so many new faces, and watch the regulars struggle with some new competition. I look forward to seeing you all next week! Cheers! -Ian
