My Mother makes an appearance (Sellwood Public House)

The question: “Who plays with bigger balls: a squash player or a racquetball player?” and thus, the Mother loving madness began at the Sellwood.  We had “Your Mom” for everything from big balls to metal bands.  Though, honestly, if my Mother had to show up at a quiz, HAIR is a good week for her to do it. And lo and behold, who else was there? Why, Dave’s Mom, of course.  She was apparently in her first film in 1979 playing in the movie version of “Hair” singing a song called “White boys” I even snapped a picture of the proof. The team’s name just so happened to be Hairy Balls.

She’s legendary that woman.  Speaking of legendary women, tonight, I heard about a gal that washed her sex toys in Axe body wash, so they, you know, smelled like a man.  Yes.  That’s right. Ponder… Ok, moving on.

Then there was the matter of how far do you go for bonus points? Cattle Prodigy took it to a whole new level when they showed up with the word “Moo” shaved into the head of a teammate.  I’m not so sure that teammate did it himself, or willingly.  Those guys are some competitive chaps.  Could be he lost a bet and the others held him down.  I’d watch my back around them. Or more accurately, the back of my head.

Sadly, this did not ensure the win for the team, and Cattle Prodigy had a bad bout with our round two tonight. Who am I? can be a tad tough, I know.  I just love saying “ZERO FOR YOU” as you walk away looking shattered, all of you. I savor those moments.  To be fair, people were cheering them on after the third zero tonight.  Cheering is the opposite of what they were doing for Chile Con Carnival, our returning champions from last week.  Chile Con Carnival gets the pub quiz gentlemen’s welcome, a nice case of the boo’s.  You know you have arrived when the crowd greets you with boo’s before the game even starts. And they had NO bonus points. They indeed had a clean win, and you can tell by their smiling faces that the $96 they took home and split between the two of them made them happy.

Now, you might think that this looks a lot like the picture from last week’s shot at Hal’s when they won there.  But you’d be wrong.  In this shot, the window, clearly, does not say “Hal’s”.  So it’s valid for showcasing Chile Con Carnival winning at the Sellwood Public House.   Speaking of Sellwood, we had 44 people in the house, and lots of newbies.  We’ll bust the 50 mark soon, I’m sure.  Sellwood is a great place to be on Wednesday night.  If you get there before 7, you can get the HH menu.

As I said on the FB page… this has been noted… vengence will come slow and deliberately… just like Your Mom last night.
