Nope, that blog heading is not the title of the next installment of Harry Potter and the Half Ass Prince, it’s a rebus for DICK BUTTKISS. If you’ve ever wondered what makes him such a hard nosed man, take a look at that name. His parents didn’t think about that? When they signed the birth certificate? Really?I mean, I grew up with the great and thoughtful moniker of “Polly” and that gave me a pretty hearty backbone from the days of touturous youth, but man, Dick Buttkiss? How did that man end up not being a serial killer? Football, clearly. The discipline, the uniforms, the beating the shit out of other men in a nice organized war like fashion. Yep, that’s what saved him. I’m rolling my eyes right now.
So, tonight only ONE TEAM showed up in some cooler than thou home-made superbowl fan shirts, Sharkys! (see them below in the winners picture). It’s nice when you come dressed for success for those winning pictures as Sharkys did tonight.
They took the pot from second place and cleared out with nearly $60 in winnings. Our second place team tonight was “The Tight Ends” who came up to register early in the game a name that was already taken. It was the oh-so-clever “Taking the Browns to the Superbowl” which was taken by another team. Ain’t that a bitch? Someone got your team name. Your team name about taking a shit. And, thanks for explaining to me what that meant, ya know, the poop humor and all. Really, I should have laughed. I mean, I’d never heard that one. I’ve heard “Dropping the kids at the pool” before which was about as equally amusing at the time I heard it. Poop humor, I mean. Wow.
In addition to our regular game we had a little football challenge of our own tonight. All the teams made up paper footballs and then tried to get them onto the “goal” on the stage. In between rounds while I was grading, I had balls flying by my head, my feet and right in front of my face. It was fun. Each team got 5 footballs, and if you hit the goal, that football was OUT of play, until then, they could keep on trying. Right as I was about to move the goal closer, Sharkys made thier first 3 point goal. Then, they made a second! We had 4 teams in all tonight that gleaned some points from that oh so fun physical challenge.
