Another great night at The Space Room, where we saw one of the biggest turnouts — and jackpots — in quite a while! And the funny thing is that while the LOST theme certainly drew fans of the show out of their momma’s basement, there were a lot of non-LOST fans too. We had some great impressions of LOST characters, which I recorded on my phone but it was way too dark to see. My personal favorite was the Smoke Monster by “House of Ill Repute.” Mike, I think you’ve got a career in imaginary monster impersonations… just sayin’.
Still, the well-balanced quiz meant that everyone had a chance to win, resulting in a great finale in the Challenge Round. But first they had to navigate Name That Tune. We couldn’t have picked a better week to have less-than-stellar audio files — all you had to do was close your eyes and imagine listening to a tinny old radio on the beach, and you practically WERE a castaway. If I had known in advance, I would’ve brought some coconuts to make y’all some of these:

Other than Name That Tune, the music was great again at the Space Room, with people controlling my songs using their iPhones/iPods. I explain how to do that on the Quizmaster JPP Fan Page, which you should really add to your daily procrastination.
Speaking of procrastinating — on with the results! When it came to the Challenge Round, only one team knew the Final Answer, and they walked out with the first place prize. Congratulations “No Future” on a well-played match. They kept their cool under pressure from the other four Challenge Round contenders, which not every team did.
In fact, “Clarification, Please?” and “Spoonful of Invisible Peanut Butter,” rivals whether they care to admit it or not, both came out guns a-blazin’, making huge wagers and getting the answer wrong. So they came in fourth and fifth, respectively, leaving open the other two money spots for “Nuts and Gum, Together in the Hatch” and “Cattle Prodigy,” a band of veterans trying out the Space Room for the first time.
Those two teams tied, which meant the other Challenge Round question was brought out to see who knew best. Neither did, actually, but Nuts and Gum’s ‘no wagering’ policy proved shrewd and vaulted them into second place. And while Cattle Prodigy rolled in third, they have threatened to come back and try again. Careful Space Roomies — this is a tried-and-true trivia crew.
