Dr. Richard Alpert, also known as Baba Ram Dass, is a spiritual teacher from Massachusetts who taught, among other schools, at Harvard University where he experimented with LSD. After having fun with that for a while, Dr. Alpert traveled to India in 1967 where he met and studied under the Maharaj-ji. It was under his tutelage that he was given the name Ram Dass, which in Hindi means “servant of God”. He continued to study with Hindu holy men throughout India until returning to America in 1969 when he wrote his classic study on spiritualism “Remember Be Here Now” which taught the concept that everyone is a manifestation of God and that every moment can be of infinite spiritual value.

He is now 78 years old and lives on an island somewhere in the south Pacific. Through the secrets of raja yoga and a good diet, he has aged backwards and only looks 35. He frequently wears eye shadow to look more mysterious, and has an old friend named Jacob.
