Pub Quiz USA

Roar. I’m a Polar Bear. Roaaar. (Shanahan’s)

And that, my friends (the title of this post), was pretty much the winning impression of a character for our LOST-themed Pub Quiz in Vancouver last night. The crowd was split down the middle with a great mix of LOST fans and lost people, making for an interesting night for all who stopped in. But when you think about how many non-LOST fans played last night, it shows how incredible the Pub Quizzers are up in Vancouver. They really love to play, and competition is heating up as a result!

Four teams scrapped their way into the Challenge Round last night. “Jacob’s Ladder,” a squad of crafty veterans and erstwhile LOST fans were ahead of the pack after four rounds, fending off Shanahan staples “They F’n Rock,” “Stumbling Drunks,” and “Burning Betties,” (in that order). In fact, “Stumbling Drunks” used their Streakie Points to force their way into the Final Round.

But it was a wasted streak, as they came in Third to “Jacob’s Ladder.” “Stumbling Drunks” and “Burning Betties” placed in second and fourth, respectively. Unfortunately the winning team disappeared before I could snap their picture for the blog (Did the smoke monster get them!?), but I have a feeling they’ll be back to battle again.

Before the quiz started, more teams had great fun playing the role of DJ last night with their iPhones/iPods. Learn how to request songs and other great quiz tips at Quizmaster JPP’s Fan Page on Facebook.

Alright, until next week, people. Be well, play hard, and try to remember everything you can…

Alas, altho our team won with the polar bear impression, Burning Betties actually came in 3rd. Unless of course we DID come in 2nd and someone ran off with our money!

Wait a sec, I know that we (the Stumbling Drunks) used our Streakie Points to buy into the final round, and I thought WE came in 3rd.

Eeek! You’re right. I got the order of things ALL wrong. You know what happened? I forgot to push the button after 108 minutes and everything got messed up.

I’ll go down to the Orchid, push the big wheel, go back in time and fix it. When I’m done, the above blog entry above will look fine, and everyone will wonder if it was always that way!

Sorry guys. They put Crown in my ginger ale last night.
