Pub Quiz USA

This just in: Gresham’s Old Chicago has good food.

Their Pizzas and Calzones are really good.

It was a great time last night in Gresham at our first Old Chicago pub quiz! 17 people showed for the FREE quiz, and two teams walked away with $25 and $15 in Old Chicago Bucks (gift certificates) as well as T-shirts, pint glasses, key chain bottle openers, baseball hats, and more! It’s hard to say no to a free quiz that gives out prizes!

The winning team called themselves “Jared Can’t Play Today”. Apparently it was true. In second place was Team Mighty Moe (or was it Mo? I forgot to ask spelling). They had a ringer come in halfway through bingo who was a treasure trove of Lost trivia. Very nice guy with a degree in Radio Broadcasting. I forget his name, but we talked about all things Cort & Fatboy related, and how getting fired from a job can be an opportunity in disguise.

I can’t wait till next week! Big props to Old Chicago for putting up awesome prizes, and for their pledge to keep the prizes fun in the future! Should be a serious crowd there in no time. Free quiz, free prizes, good food and over 100 beers from around the world – what else could you ask for?

Until Monday, Greshamites!

It was Devan Thayer Lund, usually of “Setting a Place for Elijah” at Gypsy or “Bishop and Queen” at Space Room or Belmont. We just watched Lost from beginning to end in October for the first time. I guess it was just fresh in his mind.
