You see, it’s not that The Comedian wasn’t a good answer; It’s just that it was an answer that was wrong. (If it had been a photo of Conan, say, then by all means The Comedian gets the points; or if it had been a photo of Leno’s chin, well, I’d have to have gone with The Hulk.)

Clarification Please nevertheless seemed to have had an advantage at Biddy’s all evening on Tuesday night. No, they didn’t know the various questions, for instance, but somehow that didn’t prevent them from knowing nearly each and every answer. Ahead from the get-go with a bevy of bonus points, Clarification Please stormed through round after round posting solid scores and found itself with a lead going into the Challenge Round.
Perennial contenders Chili con Carnival and Rake of Blood weren’t far behind, but when the team with the most points bets it all and nails the final question, there’s just not much you can do. Except get second. But this night, even that was a challenge.
I’m not sure the odds of this happening, but Chili and Rake both waged small amounts for the final question (very small, very different amounts…) and they both got the right answer…. and ended in a tie.
With notoriety and the spoils of victory at stake, each threw caution to the wind and beefed up its tie-breaking bet. This time around, though, Chili con Carnvial was the only team with the answer and they walked away victorious! (Well, secondarily victorious, as it were.)
You sure they weren’t cheating? Kidding, sounds like a good night. Tell them cheatin bastards to come out to Maxwell’s on Wed so they can’t hide in some dark corner.
