The Wine-iest team goes to…

Clarification Please. Of course. And I would like to say that there was an entire unversal moment of paradox last night as Clarification Please came up to CLARIFY an answer about CLARITY. OMG. Did you catch that? It was *almost* too much to bear, really. I shuffled through, and unlike @Quizmaster JPP, I’ve done my time in some mighty fines wine shops and eateries, thus, I speak fluent menu. I can roll through the Italian, French, Spanish more IF it comes from a food/ wine related source. I had the best education a girl can get, working at a great little place in Yellow Springs, Ohio known as The Winds Cafe. When I started out at this amazing place, waiting tables, I didn’t know that you had to chill white wines, or the difference between green and black tea. <gasp> It was over the course of 4 years, and a great many meals, fabulous wines and amazing tastings that I learned all about the world of wine. I have such great sense memories from those days. It’s one of the things you really can’t take away. You put a taste or a smell with something and the brain will recall it for eternity. My Quizmaster wallet now cringes at the cost of my palate, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Love the ladies at the Winds cafe. Mary Kay, Kim, Wiley, Lainie, I owe my fluent tongue in Menu to you. My dedication to the education and art of a good wine, I owe to you. I spent hours and hours pouring over books about wines, and the regions they came from, honing my talents, my palate and my uncanny ability to find the right pairings of wine and foods. And I got paid for it!

So trust this quiz players THIS week, you will not outsmart, out-taste or out wit your quizmaster on questions of wine or cheese. When all of you were away at college learning about those countries that border Zimbabwe, or which genus a monkey is, I was getting the education of a lifetime, and teaching others about tasting and pairing wines. I’ve got you this week.

Winning team this week: I Quiz on your Grave! Congrats to a big win that started off right from the bingo round with a swift lead. They stayed on top the whole night, never looking back. Scooby’s Red Rocket and Touched by and Uncle made it and interesting end to the game, as they all came up with Italy as the second largest producers of grapes, while Clarification Please lost out, thus not winning, but whining.

So, in conclusion, never offer me the “House” wine, I may say “Thanks” but I probably won’t mean it. Also, refrain from telling me about that “GREAT” two buck Chuck you found at the local Trader Joe’s, not impressed. The sure way to my heart, is through my lips, via Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Plain and simple. After all, who doesn’t love a wine that outlaws flying saucers landing in their region?

So, you know, if you ever looking for that perfect person to unload hat awesome bottle of Chatenuf with-I’m here for you.
