Not to take away from the event, but yes – it got cold last night. And yes I had a pipe burst in my house two nights ago. Luckily it was stopped quickly and isn’t my main line. Phew!

Amidst water pipes freezing and people bundling up we had a great relaxed quiz night in Hood River this week. The temps are going back up a bit, just under freezing today in Beaverton. Hooray? The atmosphere in the Horse & Hound was jovial and filled with early holiday cheer. Getting close to Christmas and 2010! It’s almost 2010, can you believe that? I’ll have to watch that movie again soon. Maybe watch it on January 1st, that’d be poetic or something.

Taking first place tonight were the point leaders in each round – the Scruffy Lookin Nerf Herders! (Chipmunk voice: “Who’s scruffy looking?!” )

Coming in second was a team giving a nod to the cold weather: “The Witch’s Titties” In third came Friends of Elwood and Jake, who were strong all night but bet too big on the extremely difficult final question. I told the crowd that even I had to look it up twice to make sure the answer was right. KBB consumer edition came out for the first time in 1993? Crazy. I still don’t know if people used unofficial versions or nabbed one from their car dealer friends or something, before 1993. It’s all a blur.
