What a cozy, festive night we had at the Space Room on Wednesday — with pie (for me) and (Wild) turkey (for the quizees), it was almost like a real Thanksgiving! We even had some of the neighbors over (a.k.a. Belmont Inn quizees looking for a fix this week) and family came from out of state! Ah, good times indeed…

Well, good times until I opened my yap and massacred almost every question like it was the thanksgiving bird. But people must’ve either been all tryptofaned up already, because all the folks in attendance were in a forgiving mood, and dare I say jolly with each egregious hosting error that I made. For example, and this was my favorite part — at the end when music seemed to mysteriously pour over the house speakers as I was launching into my usual grand finale: Yeah, that was MY music on MY speakers, and there was no one to blame but ME for it. *Sigh* Another eggnog, please, and don’t skimp on the nutmeg, Bootsie!

Probably the jolliest of all teams was Clarifacation Please? who rocked four rounds of the quiz to take the lead heading into the Challenge Round, and then wagered around second place Spoonful of Giblets and third-place No Future to claim the top prize.

And I believe all the of holiday pleasantries are about to come to a screetching halt, because with the victory, Clarifacation Please inched ever closer to the top of the Space Room Saucer Standings. Only a few weeks remain, and it’s still a four-horse race for the title of the season’s Most Victorious Quizzees!
