A blog (a contraction of the term “web log“) is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.

As of 12:23 pm PST, I am the creator/coiner of the term ‘blog’, according to Wikipedia.

….And as of 12:24 pm PST, I am no longer the creator/coiner of the term ‘blog’, it is apparently someone named Peter Merholz. For a period of 30 seconds I was famous, and if you walked down the street and saw me you would instantly recognize my face. Now I’m just another member of the crowd. Rest assured, I will become the creator of something again, if not for only 30 seconds.
