Some familiar faces invaded the Space Room for our Video Game-themed quiz on Wednesday night. It was great to see old friends “Nuts & Gum,” “Bobby Monster,” and “Bishop & Queen” again — even if two of those three teams were going by different names. You can’t slip anything past ol’ Quizmaster JPP — I know who you are!
And Nuts & Gum, going by the name of “Insert Two Credits,” picked up right where they left off, springing into contention and landing right in the middle of the Challenge Round. But since they’ve been away (wandering the Pub Quiz earth like Kane from Kung Fu, hitting every Wednesday offering we’ve got), “No Future” has peed all over the Space Room (no, not literally), marking the place as their turf. They walked out with the top prize tonight, besting “Insert Two Credits” by nine points in a tough showdown — no one got the Challenge Round Question correct. Team Jo Jo, also an on-again-off-again crew, came in third, going full-Clavin and loosing it all in the end.
“More Cowbell” and “Spoonful of…” didn’t even make the cut for the last round, which means there could be some movement at the top of the Space Room Saucer Standings!
