It was indeed awesome… unfortunately they didn’t have a power cord or I would have hooked it into the big screen tv and played some Jumpman! It was a great night last night down at the Ol’ Thirsty Lion as we whipped out our joysticks and diddled our buttons for our video game quiz.

During our video round we got to see what happened to Questor (The green elf from Gauntlet) after the stardom faded… and let me tell you it wasn’t a pretty picture!! LOL!! And I can’t believe so many people missed Vanguard from the gameplay video clip!! I mean what other video game allowed you to fire four ways and was a horizontal and vertical video scroller… not to mention having the music ‘Flight of the Hawkmen’ from Flash Gordon. I STILL have that running through my head!! LOL!!

I also have to give props to the folks who brought in more canned food items for our canned food drive for the Oregon Food Bank!! We ended up with over 150 items over the two weeks… you guys rock!! And consider your Karma cleansed for that one drunken night in Albuquerque… ok maybe you should donate to the rescue mission too just to be sure!! LOL!!

We had team C-Average back in the house again which was great to see along with ‘The Joyous Stick’ who are back after a new arrival to the family!! Congrats again guys and welcome back! ‘C-Average’ made a statement by leading the entire night and going into the final round… which… wait a minute… which did NOT include ‘T/x’!! WOW!! I think we might have found a theme which is an Achilles heal for the current Widmer Cup Champs. LOL!!

We had three other teams get in as well since we had a tie for third… newcomers ‘NOOber Pwnage’ fought hard but wagered it all on the final round and walked away with the valuable ‘Well Played’ as did ‘C-Average’ who recieved the obligatory consolation too after leading all evening. ‘Hangin’ Brain’ fought hard and with a cunning final round wager took second place. But the only team who got the final answer correct was ‘Porcupine Racetrack’, who was rewarded by taking home the the Lion’s share of the Lion’s pot. Congrats!
