Bollocks!

It’s a damn fine way of covering the gist of the quiz tonight at the Bridgeport Brewery. We had some very BALLSY teams that liked to jump forth and show off the package betwixt their legs by challenges. Oh the robust challenges at tonight’s game. Twas a night to be felt in your Quizmaster’s heart for many days to come. Well technically it will be felt in my liver once I process the numbing sting of your harsh words via all this alcohol. *ahem*

Tonight’s game was ON and fierce as we plowed through roughly 65 people and a brand new sparkly game for round two. It was a good game, and thanks for being so helpful and kind as we worked out the kinks of running the game live for the first time. I had literally just laid eyes on it about an hour before, and made sure I read my rules and instructions before handing them out. This of course worked to my disadvantage as we discovered that your rules were a little different from mine. But I digress, on to the exciting play by play details about the game!

The first round winners, with a big BALLS instead of Bingo, were in fact, Scooby’s Red Rocket. They leapt to the lead with that Balls 20 point bonus, and then sailed through the night balls first, carving out a nice lead that no one seemed to touch. The second round, while new and a little “arrogant” was fun, and THANKS for all your grading help on that one quizzees, I couldn’t have done it w/o you. Well, I could have, but hey, it’s fun to see what other people write down as answers, no?

When all was said and done, it came down to the last question, as is often the case, and Scooby’s picked the “Little League” as the category. When the wagers were in, and the answers laid down, we had a nice shuffle and our third place took second while fourth place leapt up to grab third. This was no easy feat, as we had 6 teams going into the final. Little Nemo had written the correct answer down, then changed it and brought the INCORRECT answer up to me! *gasp* The Horror, oh the Horror!

Next week marks our annual Halloween game, so make sure you come in costume, and bring a friend! I’ll shuffle tables and make sure we fit everyone in. Halloween week is always fun, and a delight to host. Not like this week. Next week, we shall take some deep breaths and do some Quiz yoga to cleanse our Chi as we delve into that Halloween madness. And I promise, I won’t even mention balls. Not once, so you can put them away now, I’ve seen them ALL tonight.
