The world according to Ted Logan and Bill S Preston, Esq – Big Time Brewing Co 9/30/09

First of all, welcome back UW students! It was great to see a packed Big Time Brewing Company tonight, but luckily we were still able to carve out some space and claim our back room for Pub Quiz. It was great to see some new faces and I look forward to more new quizzers next week.

That being said, “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” is an awesome movie and I encourage people to watch and be inspired by it. Am I too late in using “Bill & Ted’s” references? Hope not. All I have to say is San Dimas High School Football Rules! Enough said.

What a night in our packed house as teams fought tooth and nail for their place is the elite top 3. It was great to meet some new teams like the McKenzie’s, Electric Kissing Party, and Zombie Michael Jackson. James Deans’ Designated Driver and Quantum Pontiff held their own against the new competition. I think it was the change of location from front table back to a booth that knocked Oxi-Cleaners off their game just slightly to stay on the outside looking in to the final challenge round. The biggest shocker of the night was the other Billy Mays-inspired team But Wait…There’s More. After excellent showings in Bingo (Tied for high score) and Jeopardy (Highest score of the round), they seemed ready to compete for tonight’s title. As they say in sports “that’s why we play the whole game”. Sometimes the handouts are the great equalizers, usually heavy on the pop culture and celebrity side of the game, and unfortunately they knocked But Wait into 4th position tonight. With valiant efforts and great showings, Team Big Time and Part 2 were both able to skyrocket up near tonight’s leader, Team Ghost. Team Ghost held onto their lead through all four rounds. Unfortunately for them, they were outfoxed by strategic wagering in the final challenge round and Part 2 was able to claim first place. Team Ghost did an excellent job overall, and I am sure we will see them back again soon to avenge the loss.

Good luck in school, study hard, and put that knowledge to good use as well as satisfy your thirst with tasty beer next week at Big Time Brewing Company! Cheers, Kurt
