I got you. Right there at the end, you were all so cocksure with your “I know it’s Harvard” answers and wagering all those points. That was right up until I announced the answer was “Yale” and everyone goes “ooohhh Moan” Then suddenly the OUTRAGE “What the?” and the stink eye from all 66 of you last night, till I fessed up that it was indeed that answer that you were oh-so-sure about, Harvard. Thus, all those CLOSE standings (First and second only ONE POINT away from each other) remained at the end of the night, and lo and behold, Scooby’s Red Rocket was back on top. They have been clawing their way back since their return to Bridgeport, and last night was a clean, well played triumphant return to top dog. Scooby’s! They do do do.

Twas a nice quiz last night. Lots of questions about college in the Jeopardy round, and lots of fun with the handout about Baseball mascots. I liked some of the team names last night, particurlary “Oh how I hate Ohio State” see, I’ve just returned from Ohio, and there is NOTHING more annoying to me then that whole Michigan/ Ohio State rivalry. You know, I lived for 18 years in the state of Ohio and never once managed to sit through and entire football game on TV. I never attended a football game in person. Unless you count that one in HS when we drank ourselves silly in the land lab behind the field and then mooned the cheerleaders. I lost a shoe in that debacle. Try explaining *that* to your mother when you get home soaking wet and covered in mud.

I didn’t lose any clothes or shoes last night however, and had a blast of a time. Bridgeport is awesome, as always. I look forward to our Tournament of Conceit and seeing how some of the newbie teams fair at our tourney this year. (Please please please go back to the team name Gob and the Nevernudes for the tourney, ok?) How will Little Nemo hold up under the pressure against Scooby’s, the ones that have “been around the block” with their red rocket? I promise, your first time won’t hurt a bit. There are plenty of questions for everyone, and lots of prizes to help you relax. Hell, you’ll have all the quizmasters there to guide you through it. Your first time will be great, just like in college…just remember to drink. And with the internet stuff nowadays, you may even get video proof of your first time. Not like in college, if you’re lucky.
