INTRODUCING: The Shanahan’s Harp, Belmont Steak & The Space Room Saucer!

victorious1

Every season (that’s Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, for you braniacs), Shanahan’s Pub & Grill, The Belmont Inn and The Space Room host their own in-bar standings systems — quarterly competitions where you can take on your weekly adversaries and see who’s got the better trivia team over the long haul.

Designed to reward our smart, loyal teams with the recognition that they deserve these seasonal standings are three, separate ‘leagues’ which are commemorated with trophies at their respective locations.

The Shanahan’s Harp, Belmont Steak & Space Room Saucer: Rules and Regulations

    Point System:

1 point: For showing up.
2 points: For making the challenge round but not winning any cash.
3 points: For winning cash but not coming in first.
4 points: For coming in first.

Timing — Seasonal Standings and Length of Reign:

We work on the seasons, as they fall by the calendar. The winner reigns for the season following their victory. So, if the team wins the Fall 2009 Belmont Steak, they enjoy the Privileges of Victorious Quizzery during Winter 2009.

    Privileges of Victorious Quizzery:

1. Your team name is etched onto the trophy for all of eternity and beyond.
2. Each week, your favorite table will be reserved, using said trophy, until 5 minutes before the quiz begins, at which point, you’ll be considered absent for the week. Of course you can still come and play, but your table may be used by another team.
3. Reigning Champs may, at their discretion, select a Fight Song, which they can give to the Quizmaster to play at his/her discretion in tribute to the reigning champs. (Keep it short, people.)
4. Reigning Champs may enjoy prizes and whatnottery as supplied by our gracious sponsors.

The madness and mayhem start after the Equinoxes and Solstaces, and you gotta play to place! Show up and get your team on the leader board!
