You know what I like about the image above? That thermometer is for wimps. 99 degrees? That’s for babies. We’re rockin’ 108, baby!

And the Belmont was rocking it HARD last night. Good to see the oppressive heat didn’t weigh any Pub Quiz contestants down. The place was LOUD, HOT, and FEISTY — just the way I like it.

And here’s another way I like it: “Liquor in the Front, Sucker in the Rear” pulled off first place and the Challenge Round victory last night! These guys have put in plenty of time in the trenches, fighting their way into contention. Last week they finally broke loose of the pack and scored second place, but tonight they blasted past perennial contenders YMBP (second place) and “Two Parts Bourbon, One Part Beige Food” (third place) to take home the cash. Congratulations guys — well played!

And other than my east-coast pronunciation of “La Jolla,” (yeah, lets see you guys read Worcester or Gloucester aloud), it was an uneventful night. Well, uneventful for us, at least. The couple seated behind me having a loud, drunken fight — I’m sure they left The Belmont and caused plenty of other scenes.
