It was an awesome night last night at the Thirsty Lion! We had 53 people come and ‘dine out’ with us at the Lion. Seems there was some chicanery with the specials as everyone kept coming up and telling me that their waitress’ and waiters’ all had different specials that they preferred, so the bonus point opportunities were many and varied.

There was also some subterfuge going on as the former team ‘Yiffy’ stole the ‘Naughty Nurses’ name for the night. Let me just say that there were some fireworks before the Quiz because of that! The former ‘Naughty Nurses’ became ‘Bitter and Nameless’, but maybe it was for the best because their anger carried them into the final round leaving the new ‘Nurses’ in the dust!! Well done ladies!!

We had a great video round of ‘Name That Chef’ where we saw Emeril buttering his ‘big bolonga’ and Martin Yan from ‘Yan Can Cook’ playing with his chicken. Not to mention a guest appearance from the greatest TV chef of all time… The Swedish Chef from the muppets!

But when it all came down to it, ‘Mostly Confused’ was in the lead going into the final round and got to choose the final question category…. which turned out to be the wrong choice as they ended up missing it and falling out of the cash. Unfortunately, for the aforementioned ‘Bitter and Nameless’ who got the question right and went balls to the wall with their wager… but it wasn’t enough as the top three teams also went big with their wagers. ‘Gutted Salmon’ found their guts and came in third with ‘Molding Young Minds’ taking second. But the night last night belonged to ‘The Good, The Bad and the Wally’ who battled it out all evening and nailed the final question to take the biggest split of the cash!! Well played guys!!!!
