That’s right, we had a world traveler with us at the mighty Bridgeport last night, and she was traveling with her friendly Travelocity Gnome. Lindsay is traveling the world, and she’s blogging about it~ I promised to link to her blog, where MAYBE if you’re lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of ME with the Traveling Gnome. He (the Travelocity Gnome) liked Pub Quiz USA so much, that he decided to wear his pride on his famous belly. He also got a picture with me, and hopefully good ol’ Lindsay (Gnome’s traveling companion) will remember to email that to me. *ahem* Here’s Lindsay and her Gnome with a belly full of Pub Quiz USA:
Now, being a world traveler, one might assume that GNOME was a little more well versed in the facts of the world. Not so. It seems in fact that he was just having a good time with Lindsay on this trip, and was not to give her any help at all during the quiz. I sure hope he helped her on the travel arrangements. I know for a fact he enjoyed the beer. He told me when I interviewed him after round one.
Round One of the quiz saw some great high scores, as well as some great low scores. It was tough really to say which was filled with more greatness, as it’s not easy to nab either of those spots. Good job to BOTH the first and last place teams this week. I salute you both. I might just salute those in first place a little longer. Still, a short salute is nothing to sniff about. Little Nemo took the game tonight. That was helped by ACING both of the handout rounds. They got perfect scores on both of those. Even better than the *ahem* audiophile (They missed you Ebony!) in the audience tonight, Little Nemo correctly identified ALL of that slang talk acronym digital audio stuff. Or STADS for short. And Oh yes, you’re right, MONO isn’t really an acronym, but it’s listed as one in the digital acronyms websites I visited..and people use it as such. SO you know the old saying, if it smells like poop and it tastes like poop, it must indeed be poop. As always, we had a nice big POT and some of the best teams in Pdx play at the Bridgeport. You should come throw your hat into the ring, see if you can hang with us, Bridgeport style. Summer is a good time in the Pearl. We’re having a blast over there, and you never know who might turn up. Could be that neighbor you’ve been dying to take down in a rough match of trivia.
Till next time
Polly ( I know it’s sideways, but I’ve uploaded it 6 times the right way, and this blog just WANTS that chick sideways)
