Yep, that’s right, we are running the “Winner takes all” cash pot at CC Slaughter’s on Monday nights. We let all the teams into the final, then the best team walks out with ALL THE CASH. Now, in the past, we have hosted the Monday night winner takes all by vote, but I have decided that, even with 6 teams, and all in, it’s still a more fun, guts for glory death match when you have more cash on the line. Last night’s pot? Why, it was $60~ and a team of TWO people won that one, coming from 4th place and taking it all home. Not to shabby, $30 each on a Monday night? I’d like to see about 40 of you show up for a winner takes all pot sometime. So come on down on Monday nights, great drink specials, great bar staff, and often some of the “Bigger” winning teams show up to get their game on early in teh week, and practice, so you get a good run at some stiff competition. Like Barry. He didn’t show up last night, but we had a chant for his awesomeness (he won solo last week–$45) Maybe next week when you come down, you’ll get to play against these awesome teams, if you’re lucky.

Speaking of stiff, the rural part of the Rural Jurors were absent last night, which means that we had some “Urban Jurors” in the house vying for that cash-ola. Martine, you were sorely missed, though you should be proud of Adam, he did so well on most of the trivia questions all night, but he just blew that final question. You give him hell on Wednesday night. AND you better get him watching some of those Battlestar Galactic episodes, cause he totally sucks at those. As well as at the 80′s pop music trivia. He’s very shallow Adam, help him work on that, will ya?

So it was that the Urban Jurors were in the lead going into the final, and they chose to take the question that they did NOT know the answer too, yet the Double Dragon Heat Deux DID know the answer too. Quickly. It was almost scary how fast he knew that answer. Makes one wonder if he’s watching old Facts of Life episodes and taking notes.The Urban Jurors and The Streeps played neck and neck most of the night, with LPG and her Trusty Nerd close behind. In the end, we had the top two teams separated by 2 points, while team two and three were separated by only 3 points. Double Dragon Heat Deux made a nice wager, and knew the answer, springing forth from FOURTH to claim the victory. Nicely done.Nice job. Though all your scores were still under 300 at the end. Sad for you. Hurray and BOO all at the same time.
