Andre, owner of Schmizza Pub n Grub in the Pearl, popped in and said hello at last night’s quiz.  More importantly, he said “Thanks for coming out!” with a shot of Fireball on the house for everyone.  It was delicious.

That plus the $100 first place guarantee winnings has kept the quizzes very interesting there the last month or so!  Speaking of the $100 first place prize, congratulations to team Bullet Pants!

They made a nice Beach Diorama type thing, along with beach photos, and got themselves bonus points for their troubles.  They also gave the Quizmaster some chocolates, which I shared with teams.  They were also delicious.

In second place, team We Heart Brains took home $50!  And in third place, $25 went to Seven Nights Only, who I will see three times this week – at Belmont as well as a Friday showing of The Revenent at the Hollywood Theater that team Seven Nights Only is gathering people to go see.  It’s a film in the same vein as Shaun of the Dead, so I’m excited!  Anyone is welcome to join our group of friends if you have free time Friday night – it starts at 9:45.  Here’s a link for more info.

Until next week peeps!  I’ll leave you with a picture from this last weekend, where some friends and I spent two nights in Bandon on the beach.  We stopped by an exotic game park, and I got to pet a baby cougar, a baby fox, baby possums, ferrets, and this baby black bear:

The ice cream cones I am holding are filled with feed for the dozens of llamas, goats, horses, and other exotic animals walking around freely in the park, which you can hand-feed and pet.  It’s a crazy place!
