Okay, top 5 zombie flicks for me:

5. Dawn of the Dead (remake) – just a good, zombie survival movie.  The original is basically the same, but had teeerrible acting as far as I could see.  I stopped it and watched the remake after like 15 minutes.

4. 28 Days Later

3. 28 Weeks Later – toss up between this (the sequel) and the original, but I think Jeremy Renner’s performance tips it to this being my all time favorite serious zombie film.

2. Shaun of the Dead

1. Zombieland – perfect blend of good writing, not too serious, and interesting story.  Best character names in any movie.

Special mention goes to the Resident Evil series, because it COULD have been amazing.  And it was just too much sci-fi for me.  I like less monster, more practical zombie survival stuff.  Which makes me happy they are coming out with a couple Zombie survival games soon!  Day Z is coming out with a standalone version soon (it’s currently a mod for Arma II, which I’ve never played and don’t want to buy); and War Z is a true survival MMO.  At least in theory.  It might go to crap by release, since these things seem to happen that way sometimes.

ANYWAY!  I get far too into talking about zombie stuff.  I’ve been trying to finish a zombie novel for 10 years, we’ll see if that happens.  :)
