Pub Quiz USA

I love a bartenter who will lay the smack down!! Bogey’s 6/26/08

I love it out at Bogey’s… Two of the nicest teams in the Pub Quiz universe play out in Gresham… Shuggy’s and Bogey’s. It was once again a two team battle royale but with smiles and laughter throughout the night as all had a good time on our little ‘European Vacation’.

Up until last night I had stood my ground on the photo-shopped pictures of people in front of European icons for the whole week… but my QM resolve gave way to a person on Team Bogeys when she came up to me and said ‘Do you want to see me in front of the Eiffel Tower?’ And then held up a key chain of the ‘Eiffel Tower’ behind her head. I just had to laugh and I told her it had to be a picture… so sure enough in a few minutes she came back with a cell phone with a pic of her in front of the ‘Eiffel Tower’… I loved the tenacity and had to give her a cpl of bonus points.

I have never played a round of ‘Who am I’ with only two teams and it turned out to be one of the most fun nights I’ve had in a long time… When each team knows if the other is going for the points strategy really comes into play… like after announcing that Bogey’s missed a 15 pointer a member from Shuggy’s, who was getting up to bring their answer up, all of the sudden had a knee injury and said that he was just stretching and sat back down to wait for the 10 pointer… o the cunning and deceit!! It was like that throughout the round with both teams faking trips up and trying to deceive each other… it added a whole new level to the game!!

In the end though Bogey’s took the cash and bragging rights for another week! It was a great night overall!! If anyone is looking for a chill relaxed spot, with a great group of fun players you should really come out to Bogey’s… it’s a blast!!

Don’t however, come out and mess with the quiz… we had a couple of drunk regulars start shouting out answers as soon as we began the quiz… but then the bartender came out and laid a smack down on them… really… she smacked the shit out of them… it was awesome!! I love having physical backup!!!

Thanks Everyone!

Dave

Ooh, I missed out on Carmen Miranda. Too bad for me! Sounds like it was an exciting game. Miss you people at CC’s but I’ll be back in a couple of weeks!
