Man what a good title I came up with for this blog post. You see how it rhymes AND brilliantly ties in the week’s theme all in one fell swoop!? You see!?
Oh wait, I just remembered that was actually Beige Food’s team name tonight. So I’m not really clever or witty at all. Still I like the rhyming action. Oh, and Beige Food won too. Good job guys, but anyway back to rhyming. I think more teams should incorporate rhymes into their name. Like, the Urban Achievers could be Be A Believer in The Urban Achievers. Or Boomshanka could be Boomshanka is Gonna SPANK Ya! Or Get Your Ass to Mars could be Don’t Get SARS, Get Yer Ass to MARS! Yeah!
Anyway I could do that for pages, or ages, if you will, but then you’d probably want to put me in cages. Like, different parts of me you see. If I kept rhyming like that you’d probably want to cut me into pieces like a kumquat and put each dripping appendage into a vat or maybe turn my face into a welcome mat and feed the chin fat to a jungle cat.
But I’ll stop. A bop biddy biddy doo wop.
Anyway, fun quiz tonight guys. A cute lady even blew me a kiss. Or maybe it was to the person behind me, but it was in my general direction and that’s always nice. People should blow more kisses. And rhyme. And throw hugs. Have you ever thrown a hug? You should try it sometime. Throwing hugs. It works.
Best answer of the night: The Golden Shower as a guess to what the name of Phillip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy is. When in doubt, make me laugh. I may not give you points, but I will love you forever.
Best team of the night: The No-Mouth Monkeys, who approached the bench over a point discrepancy. Turns out we’d accidentally given TOO MANY points and they wanted it rectified so all would be fair and just in the Pub Quiz universe. Those guys are true players–nice as they come, awesome at trivia (they consistently rank in the top five with a team of two), and committed to fair play. No-Mouth Monkeys, you are a class act.
Good bye, or should I say, au revoir? It’s the only French phrase I know so I might as well use it.
And I absolutely PROMISE I won’t abuse it.
Justin
You’re such a poet and you totally know it. Love the name rhyme, now, it’s my time: No Sleeps for The Streeps!; Are you happy to see my pocket, or Scooby’s Red Rocket?; Low-fat milk will lighten the Sirens of Titan. This is as fun as a hot cross bun! Justin you’re so cool, you rule this school.
