Ooooh Noooo!
Words, even awesome shakesperean words, cannot express how much elation and camaraderie I felt when all the teams got up and read out their sonnets. There were finger puppets, and accents, and elocution. And I LOVED IT. Thank you so much for being the kind of people who willingly stand up and blindly read sonnets in front of a crowd of your equally fantastic and awesome peers. Although, I was surprised that not one of you guys read sonnet 130, “My Mistress”, therefore, I took the opportunity to read it. Yes, I self-glorified, and read a sonnet I feel perfectly portrays how anyone would feel about me. Self- deprecating? You’re welcome.
BINGO was awesome again, as usual, but was in peril of going another round without a Bingo. What? Again?! but, new team Peg Leg Pete and his Lusty Wenches saved the rounds bacon by scoring that sweet, sweet BINGO! Good job, Ladies (little known fact- not a dude amongst them…I liked it).
Game of Arrogance…….heavy sigh….game of arrogance. You have a magical ability of making the simplest tasks super ridiculous difficult to explain. Go you. And yet, you players of magnificence managed to school Arrogance. You taight them the what for, and then some. So good job, you!
Now, let’s tangent and talk about which of the plays we like the most….To be honest, I have a major soft-spot for the comedies. I adore Twelfth Night and Much Ado About Nothing. Taming of the Shrew is sort of how I’d like to meet my husband; not gonna lie. But there is something to be said about the tragedies….Othello just screams sexy to me. Serious. Despite the whole raging jealousy and murder thing. Sexy.
But it broiled down to the challenge round and the top three teams of the evening…and who were they, you may ask? well, it was the Peg Leg Pete’s, Bobostef, and Shit Shakespereal ( a team by any other name….)who made it to the challenge round, Yay you guys!
